Free Concerts on Ocean Boulevard
There are free oceanfront concerts throughout the summer taking place on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach. Hot Summer Nights is an oceanfront concert series lasting from 8 p.m. to midnight at Plyler Park on the corner of Ocean Boulevard and on Mr. Joe White Avenue in downtown Myrtle Beach. Come out and enjoy all types of music including rock, jazz, pop, reggae, Motown and country! In addition you can enjoy one of the beach’s biggest fireworks display at 9.30 p.m. on Wednesday nights until the end of August. There will be street performers, balloon artists, stilt-walkers, face painting, jugglers and plenty of kid-friendly fun that include inflatable jumping rooms.
Free Movies at The Market Common
The Market Common is where you can find many free events during the summer months. Every Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday through mid-August, Grand 14 Cinemas at the Market Common area will show a different kids’ movie every week at 10 a.m. There is free admission for everyone! Come enjoy $1 drinks and $1 popcorn. On Wednesdays, enjoy free movies in Valor Park beginning at 9 p.m.
Free Live Music at The Market Common
On Fridays in June, July & August, enjoy live music in the gazebos on Howard and Reed Avenues and a complementary carriage ride through the scenic streets of The Market Commons. The Market Common is located on Farrow Parkway off of Business and ByPass 17.
Free Movies in Surfside Beach
On Friday nights throughout the summer there will be free movies held in Martin Park (6th Avenue South and Dogwood Drive), Surfside Beach. Movies After Dark takes place from 9 to 11 p.m. Bring a blanket or a chair, snacks and bug spray and c’mon out!
Free Live Music in Garden City Beach
Every night from 8:30 to 11 p.m. throughout the summer months, head on down to Garden City Beach, SC. Here you can enjoy a walk along the beach and listen to live music on the Garden City Beach Pier.
Murrells Inlet MarshWalk
If you’re looking for a lovely evening out, head on down to Murrells Inlet and enjoy all that this historic fishing village has to offer. Treat yourself to a leisurely stroll along the MarshWalk and enjoy the great views of the saltwater marsh, birds and beautiful scenery. There are many clubs and restaurants along the MarshWalk with their own live music floating through the open doors and windows. Take the time to stop and enjoy it!
Sunday Series in Surfside
Every Sunday afternoon from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. there will be live music at the gazebo in Fuller Park/Passive Park at 410 Surfside Drive, Surfside Beach. The public is invited to attend this free event. Bring and blanket or chair, snacks and bug spray. This is always a popular event.
You don’t have to spend a lot of money to have fun on your vacation, not when there’s so many free things taking place around the area besides the beachfront and the ocean.
