A beach vacation has the potential to be about so much more than just the beach, the surf and the sun. Even though the water sports you can partake in are seemingly endless, eventually you have to put dry clothes on and come in out of the sun. We’ve come up with four things that are near our Sandy Beach Resort that you should check out for some away-from-the-beach time.
If you’re vacation with children (or even if you aren’t) you have to make a stop at the Family Kingdom seaside amusement park and the oceanfront Splashes Water Park. Remember how thrilling an amusement park was when you were a kid? Well, it’s even more fun now! Family Kingdom has 35 ride for you to try out while the Splash Water Park provides slides, flumes, a lazy river and children’s areas. Buy an unlimited ride pass to either or both parks and save big! For those that want to squeeze in a golf game while they’re here, check out the nearby Whispering Pines Golf Course at 900 Harrelson Blvd., in Myrtle Beach. This 18-hole course will challenge and relax you both on its fairways lined with pine trees. Carved out of 200 acres of mature hardwoods and towering pines, this 6,771-yard course was designed by Finger, Dye and Spahn. This is a traditional classic design-styled course with above average slope and handicap rating where you’ll enjoy affordable rates and outstanding service.
For those thrill seekers out there, be sure to visit Ripley’s Haunted Adventure House. Taking haunted houses to the next level, this multi-storied scream home features live actors whose sole purpose is to scare you at every turn. Located in the heart of Myrtle Beach and open year-round for your convenience, if your family loves a good scare fest, this is one attraction you surely will want to attend. What is even neater is that the Haunted Adventure house is located within Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! which features the odditorium, 5-D Moving Theater, and the Marvelous Mirror Maze.
If it’s time for a little shopping therapy go check out the Coastal Grand Mall at 2000 Coastal Grand Circle in Myrtle Beach. Here you’ll find over a hundred places to shop and dine in close proximity to the Sandy Beach Resort. Check out their website for all the deals and events going on at any given time. If you’re bringing the kids along why not send them to the Cinemark Theatre to watch a flick while you do some leisurely shopping.
There’s plenty more going on around the area close to where you’ll be staying. Take a stroll down the street or along the beach. You just can’t beat the views around here!
